Who are we

Kyrgyz Indigo is a Kyrgyz LGBT+ organization, and one of the largest in Central Asia. We are 40 LGBT+ activists and allies, implementing rights defending, advocacy activities and providing services for the community. We fight for equality and improvement in the quality of life of LGBT+ people.

Our vision

We see Kyrgyzstan as a country where all LGBT+ people can live safely and openly, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. It is a country of diversity, equality, free expression, respect and positive recognition of human dignity.

Our mission

Create a society free from prejudice and stigma towards LGBT+ and improve the quality of life of LGBT+ through human rights programs. We inform, increase visibility, develop organizational and community capacity, and build partnerships with other organizations and movements.
Our mission
  • Respect - the organization promotes the principle of respect for all people, regardless of their identity, origin, gender, etc.
  • Equality - LGBT + people have universal rights and freedoms.
  • Responsibility - the organization and its employees must be environmentally responsible and practice non-violence.
  • Solidarity - the organization is in solidarity with LGBT + initiatives and organizations that promote equality.
  • Cohesion - the activities of the organization are built on cohesion and team spirit, when relations between employees are based on the principles of respect and trust in each other.
  • Transparency - the organization's financial statements are open to communities. Commitment - Employees are committed to the mission, organizational principles, and common goal.

What do we do

We are forming democratic society, promoting LGBT+ rights at country and regional levels, protecting the interests and security of LGBT+. We build partnerships with governments and international organizations for non-discrimination and equality.

We are increasing the potential of all LGBT+ communities, including people living in the regions, people living with HIV, ones who identify themselves as Muslims, as well as LGBT+ parents and siblings. We actively share our experience and lessons learned.
